Red Sox Run the Table, Yankees Surge

JULY 12, 2026

A quick lap of the standings, offenses and pitching staffs.

Two teams made the biggest jumps this week without touching the top three. Boston went 6-0 and vaulted seven spots, while the Yankees rode Ben Rice into the top five. The powerhouses stayed put, but the middle of the standings got interesting.

Power Rankings

Power ranking — record, run differential and recent form, blended into one order. Tap a team for its week.

The Brewers took over the top spot at 59-36, going 5-3 behind Jake Bauers and his three homers, while the idling Dodgers dropped a spot after a 2-4 week and a minus-15 run differential. The real movers were below them: Boston climbed seven to fourth on a perfect 6-0 run, and the Yankees jumped eleven to fifth as Ben Rice went 11-for-26 with five homers.

Best offenses

Team OPS — on-base plus slugging. Higher is better.

The Dodgers lead the league in team OPS at .779, no surprise for a lineup this deep, with the Pirates a close second at .763. Washington sits third at .759, quietly outscoring its record.

Best rotation

Starting rotation ERA — starters only. Lower is better.

Milwaukee owns the best rotation ERA at 3.29, matching its new perch atop the standings, with Tampa Bay right behind at 3.37. Out of the bullpen it's the Yankees leading at 3.05, one more reason they're suddenly in the top five.
