Jac Caglianone led every hitter in August at a 1.113 OPS for the Royals, edging Pete Crow-Armstrong and Bryce Harper, who tied at 1.069. Crow-Armstrong's version came with real thump; Harper's was quieter power at five homers. Two Cubs made the top five, with Alex Bregman right there at 1.025.

Nobody out-slugged Pete Crow-Armstrong last month, whose 14 home runs paced the field and pulled the Cubs along. Bregman's 12 kept it a family affair in Chicago, and Pete Alonso, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Cal Raleigh all landed on nine.

Jesus Luzardo ran the best August ERA at 1.31 for the Phillies, and he wasn't alone in the rotation, teammate Cristopher Sanchez checked in at 1.72. Cal Quantrill (1.45) and Reid Detmers (1.50) rounded out a month where the pitchers had plenty to say.
