Philadelphia Sweeps a Week, Climbs the Board

AUGUST 23, 2026

A quick lap of the standings, offenses and pitching staffs.

The Brewers still sit on top, but the loud story is Philadelphia. The Phillies went 6-0 this week and jumped ten spots in the power ranking. Milwaukee and the Dodgers held the top two, both at 5-1.

Power Rankings

Power ranking — record, run differential and recent form, blended into one order. Tap a team for its week.

Milwaukee keeps the top spot after a 5-1 week and a plus-31 run differential, with Garrett Mitchell going 8-for-11. The real mover is Philadelphia, up ten to third on a perfect 6-0 run behind Alec Bohm's 11 RBI and a sharp Aaron Nola start. Cleveland made the biggest quiet leap, up fifteen into the top ten on a 4-2 week and Jo Adell's 10 RBI.

Best offenses

Team OPS — on-base plus slugging. Higher is better.

The Dodgers lead the team-OPS board at .763, a hair ahead of the Cubs at .757 and the Nationals at .755. No runaway here, just a tight cluster at the top.

Best rotation

Starting rotation ERA — starters only. Lower is better.

The Yankees own the best rotation ERA at 3.36, with Detroit (3.42) and Milwaukee (3.48) right behind. Boston's bullpen leads the relief board at 2.92, edging the Yankees at 2.99, so New York is deep on both ends of the staff.
