The Award Races Have Real Shape Now

JUNE 11, 2026

Where the MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year races stand right now.

Two-thirds of the season is still ahead, but the early ballots are filling in. Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Schwarber are pulling at the MVP debate from different angles, while a rookie has somehow climbed into the OPS leaderboard. Here's where the three big races stand.

MVP watch

Best hitters by OPS, in each league.

Alvarez still leads all hitters at 1.066, a touch off his mark a week ago but still on a historic pace. Schwarber makes his case the loud way, with a league-best 24 home runs, and Ben Rice sits at 1.006 in his own breakout year.

Cy Young watch

Best starters by form — our 0–100 pitching score from ERA & WHIP — in each league.

Jacob Misiorowski has the form number maxed out at 100, backed by a 1.50 ERA and a 0.81 WHIP that nobody else can match. Cristopher Sánchez is right there on run prevention at 1.54, but Misiorowski is the one setting the pace.

Rookie of the Year watch

Top first-year hitters by OPS, in each league.

Munetaka Murakami is doing rookie-of-the-year work that doesn't even look like a rookie season: a .938 OPS and 20 home runs. Behind him, Bryce Eldridge has snuck to .906, proof the freshman class runs deeper than one name.
